We’re all on different paths seeking different targets and the only thing that we can do is work to be the best we can be on the way to that goal. Part of that is being the best man possible so here are some dead serious as well as fun ways to make that goal a reality. Here are the 101 ways to become a better man in no particular order.

  1. Decide to be a better man.

You can’t go very far in your quest to be a better man if you do not make a conscious decision to be one.

I remember when I was bagging groceries when I was working at a grocery store a while back. My coworker, who was about six months pregnant, swooned and I was there to catch her. It may not have been much but they called me a hero for six months afterwards and I helped her out.

Although many hardcore exercise buffs will tell you that Yoga is a womans exercise, I disagree. The first time I tried it, I worked muscles that I didn’t even know I had. An added plus is that it’s a great way to meditate.

  1. Watch Your weight.

Being overweight is not a good thing. Ever. It is amazing how many chronic diseases you can avoid by working to stay fit.

I speak English Fluently, enough Spanish to avoid being kidnapped in Mexico, and a little Igbo; the native tongue of my ancestors. My partner loves it when I seduce her in different languages and I’m sure yours will too.

Blogging is an art form just like singing, dancing, and painting. It can inspire or incite the masses just like a well-delivered speech. We all have an opinion, some more important than others, so I encourage everyone to give it a try.

  1. Travel Extensively.

I only have six countries under my belt but I am actively working to increase that number. This is definitely at the top of my bucket list and I want to visit at least 75 before I leave the earth. Get out there man, see new sights and experience new cultures.

  1. Brush up on honor.

Honor, also called chivalry by some, is far from being dead. You can brush up on the essentials with the evolution of honor as told by The Art of Manliness

  1. Join a fraternity of like minds.

Not the college ones that are good for alcohol, sex, and random acts of violence (I speak from experience here). I mean a community that shares your ideals and will help you to achieve them (Indomitable Audacity).

  1. Chase your Obsession.

Passion is cool but to change the world you need to be obsessed with your mission.

  1. Complete a few DIY projects

Do you really want or need to call another man to do all the grunt work? I don’t know about you but I derive a certain amount of satisfaction when I am able to get a job done on my own. Visit man made DIY for some cool projects to start with.

I have taken the time to look into the three major monotheistic religions and have realized that they have striking similarities (its really a wonder that men and women kill each other over basically the same beliefs). I have also adopted some of the teachings of the Middle Way that was advocated by The Buddha so many years ago. At the very least, it will make you more tolerant.

  1. Choose a charity.

Choose one charity that you donate to regularly. If you are fortunate enough to pay for internet access then you can probably spare a few dollars for the billions of people living in poverty.

  1. Volunteer

Train the next generation of young men to become better than us.

  1. Take an active role in your community

You have no right to complain about the way things are until you attempt to fix them.

  1. Get out of your comfort zone

Men never achieve greatness by staying in their comfort zone

  1. Do something that scares the shit out of you

As long as it does not involve something that will cause you bodily harm
